WH Auden (Yellow)

W.H.Auden was a poet, born in York. He wrote ballads, blues, limericks, sonnets, nonsense verse, words for operas, and dramas.
When Queens' School was established in 1969, Auden was alive and was told about the use of his name.
He wrote back to say how pleased he was and that he would like to visit 'his house' sometime.
Unfortunately he died before he could carry out his wish.
